Mako Networks provide further functionality that can be managed via the Mako Networks website management and reporting console.

Mako Guardian

Mako Guardian allows you to control the type of websites that people can visit using content filtering and spyware protection. Mako Guardian also enhances the standard Mako system reporting. You can see exactly what website addresses people have been visiting and block specific websites, websites that contain certain words or phrases and even stop users from downloading unwanted files.

With Mako Guardian, control is just a mouse click away.

Mako Failover

Mitigate your mission critical Internet use for maximum efficiency and performance. With two Makos you can now ensure higher Internet availability with seemless failover - this includes your VPN Tunnels which are speedily rebuilt should either Internet Connection fail.

High Availability - A Mako Failover licence and a second Mako will ensure that your Internet connection and associated VPNs have maximum availability even in the event of hardware or connectivity failure.

The Primary Mako connects your network(s) to the Internet as normal and terminates all your VPNs. The Secondary Mako monitors the Primary and if it detects a hardware fault or disconnection from the Internet will take over. All Mako to Mako VPNs are automatically re-established on the Secondary unit.

When the Primary Mako returns to normal service, standard operations are resumed.

Mako Mailguard

Mako Mailguard is the Mako email sanitisation system designed for businesses who have their own mail server and domain name.

There is no need for configuration changes on your email server. Once you have subscribed to Mako Mailguard, your email will be filtered by our separate email servers for spam, viruses and content before it is delivered to your mail server. This means a significant reduction in unwanted mail entering your network. You
can also enforce all outbound mail to go through the Mako Mailguard servers.

Mako Mailguard is Mako Networks’ only “off-box” product.

What next

Mako Mailguard and Mako Guardian can be activated by purchasing a license for the product. This can be done either by contacting your Mako reseller and will be available for use once your Mako Box has downloaded the upgrade over your internet connection.
