5 Essential Benefits of PCI DSS Certification for Your Business
This blog post explores the role of cloud-managed SD-WAN in optimizing multi-site network management, highlighting the Mako System as a prime example of this technology in action.
Keep your remote offices connected using our smallest networking device, built with affordability and flexibility in mind. The Mako 4500 can be deployed as a secure zone router, edge router or wireless access point.
Keep your remote offices connected using our smallest networking device, built with affordability and flexibility in mind. The Mako 4500 can be deployed as a secure zone router, edge router or wireless access point.
The Mako 4500 is an affordable, fully cloud-managed Mako device featuring dual-band 802.11b/g/n/ac Wi-Fi technology and flexible deployment options. The 4000 Series brings the security, performance and cloud management of the Mako System to streamlined, cost-effective Mako devices with a smaller footprint that allows for deployment as either a security gateway or an access point (AP). These are industrial-strength devices with no moving parts, designed to meet the challenging requirements and environments of distributed enterprises. The Mako 4500 is ideal for extending Wi-Fi range or for replacing an outdated secure zone router.
Like all Mako devices, the Mako 4500 access point is managed via our cloud-based network management and monitoring application, the Mako Central Management System (CMS), part of our proprietary, PCI-certified network platform, the Mako System.
The Mako 4500 can be configured for deployment as either a wireless access point or a security gateway depending on your business needs. Mako devices can only be configured from the Mako Central Management System (CMS) for maximum security. These changes take place in real-time, without the need for an on-site visit or to locally flash the device.
The Mako 4500 is managed from the Mako CMS, making remote management, monitoring and support simple and straightforward. Using a patented communications protocol, the Mako 4500 securely connects to the Mako CMS, providing data that is used to generate easy-to-understand graphical reports. Real-time information about the network, including cellular and broadband data use by site, user and timeframe, intrusion attempts, Internet traffic records, estate-wide network status and much more is available to authorized users 24/7.
The Mako 4500 is ideal for connecting remote workers, IoT applications or retail locations to head offices, data centers or third-party application providers easily and securely. The Mako 4500 can be used to join a Mako VPN Cloud, which supports circuit, hardware and geographic redundancy, allowing your Mako device to connect to fast, reliable VPNs directly over broadband when configured as a security gateway, or in conjunction with other Mako devices when configured as an AP. Using Mako VPN Cloud technology, remote locations can be linked by encrypted tunnels in seconds without requiring static IP addresses.
The entire Mako System—including the Mako CMS, all Mako devices and firmware, and our proprietary wireless networking technology—is end‐to‐end PCI DSS certified, providing peace of mind and security for businesses that accept credit cards. Mako’s PCI-certified enterprise templates facilitate bulk security configuration of Mako devices, and Mako’s PCI-certified wireless networking technology is a perfect fit for tablet‐based POS systems.
The Mako 4500 features dual‐band wireless on 802.11b/g/n/ac standards for customer hotspots or general business use and supports up to four wireless SSIDs per device. The Mako System’s PCI DSS certification covers both wired and wireless communications, so your Wi-Fi networks can be configured for high security.
In addition to Mako CMS diagnostic tools, the network LED on the Mako 4500 provides Internet and network connection information at a glance. For non‐technical users, this makes it easy to quickly troubleshoot network issues.
Like all Mako devices, the 4500 allows for zero-touch deployment by automatically receiving device-specific configuration information from the Mako CMS via the Cloud. Remote sites can get up and running quickly, easily and securely.
